October 4 th was the 3rd annual Canyon Lake Car show. About 210 cars, invite only. The red 40 coupe in the background belongs to the couple that have invited us the last 2 years, Howard and Jane Dague of Canyon Lake.

The Car Show raises funds for the Progeria Research Foundation. Chip Foose lost a sister to Progeria back in the mid 80's. Progeria is a super rare disease that makes children age extremely fast.

Most of the raffel goodies for the day were donated by the Foose family. We won a basket with 6 of the die-cast cars representing either cars from the tv show "Overhaulin" or cars that were designed by Chip Foose.

At the end of the Day as we were heading out we stoped to chat with Chip and he signed all of the cars for us.

At the end of the raffel they had a peddle car painted by one of Chips painters, real red leather upholstry and pin stripped by "Hod Rod", it went to the high bidder at $2,100.00.
In the picture is Chip and his dad Sam Foose, helping to get the bid up.

Great day, Great fun - with our Hosts Howard and Jane.

After many years of putting off concreting the gravel side of the driveway, we finally got the job done. With the gravel gone and a new gate, we are ready for the next project (new garage doors)

Sunday, August 31, 2008

We did the San Clemente Invitational in June and Picnic By the Bay in
August, next up is the Canyon Lake Invitational the 4th of October.
This is a special show that is attended by Chip Foose and his dad Sam,
Sam lives in Canyon Lake and one of Chips favorite charities is the
beneficiary of the show proceeds.

The 1st week of August was spent at Lake Tahoe (4) nites and Reno for (2) nites for the annual Hot August Nites
Car show. 5500 cars were registered.

This is front of Harrahs at Lake Tahoe

In late June thru the middle of July we had our pool redone after 22 years of fun and frolic. New plaster, new and different tile, and even a couple of dolphins on the bottom at each end.

Now it's April, George & Sheryl are here from Tacoma and we are off for a 7 Day Mexican Riveria Cruise on the Princess Dawn.

March was the Good Guys show at Del Mar, we had the Chevy in the indoor show and drove the '32 back and forth from home to the show each day.
<- This is the '32... Robert Ganet, who built the '32 while doing a series of books on '32 Fords, sent me the Mag. cover with the car on it after we purchased it in 2004. It still looks the same in it's black primer.

In February we headed out of San Diego for a 6 day cruise on the Carnival Elation with our good friends Ray & Judy from Richland, Washington. Last year we did a 14 day round trip with them from San Diego to Hawaii.
